Founded in 1873 by brothers William and Thomas, Sanders is an English family business specializing in handmade luxury shoes. The company is still based in Northamptonshire. The brothers had a vision from the outset to create hand-sewn shoes that would stand the test of time, and embody excellence.

With a modest team of 5 artisans, the brothers worked in their early days with limited resources to make as many shoes as possible. Every detail, every leather panel, every woven stitch has played an essential role in Sanders 's reputation as a luxury shoemaker. Over time, technology has improved and it was the invention of Goodyear machinery that revolutionized Sanders as a company. With this machine, the company was able to create more shoes in less time, and cope with growing demand during the war. After 1924, Sanders no longer had to prove itself and became the real British institution that the brothers had dreamed of.

True to its origins, Sanders still represents today the luxury shoe that has crossed generations, renowned for its high-quality leather skins and superior craftsmanship, for such British elegance.
